Hardscaping BOOM alive and wellPublished by Dugybear Outdoor Living on Nov. xx, 202x

CINCINNATI, OHIO — According to a new study analysis from The Freedonia Group, demand for hardscape goods in the US is predicted to grow 5.6 percent per year to $3.5 billion in 2021.

According to Landscaping Items Market in the US, 5th Edition, despite moderate growth in existing house sales, which is an indicator of home renovation trends including landscaping, sales of hardscape products such as boulders, edging, and pavers will expand rapidly through 2021.
According to the report, the industry will also benefit from increased new dwelling construction, which will promote new hardscaping installations. In addition, the growing popularity of outdoor living areas like as patios and outdoor kitchens, which are frequently built with huge amounts of hardscaping, will drive up demand.

Water runoff from impermeable pavers like asphalt may clog sewers and damage water sources, prompting towns to adopt permeable alternatives for sidewalks, plazas, and parking lots, the majority of which are built of concrete. Concrete pavers accounted for 78 percent of hardscaping concrete sales in 2016, and demand is expected to climb 5.9% yearly to $1.4 billion by 2021.

Decorative items will still account for roughly 41% of the landscaping product market in 2021, despite a decline in demand. A surge in sales of outdoor lighting goods, particularly higher-value LED and solar models, as well as solid growth in pots and planters, will enable ornamental landscaping items maintain their predicted 3.4 percent annual growth through 2021, a slowdown from 2011-2016.
